			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It&#8217;s always interesting watch a service break through from the underground into the mainstream. And that&#8217;s certainly what&#8217;s happening with <a href="http://twitter.com/" target="_self">Twitter </a>right at the moment.</p>
<p>The micro-blogging service saw a huge 974% increase in UK traffic in 2008. First it helped <a title="http://twitter.com/barackobama" href="http://" target="_self">Obama </a>spread his vision of &#8220;Change&#8221; in the run-up to the US Elections. Soon after, it was used by nimble-fingered passerby Janis Krums to capture a <a href="http://www.kullin.net/2009/01/social-media-in-hudson-river-plane.html" target="_self">plane ditching in the Hudson</a>. Then it was discussed by on the <a href="http://twitter.com/Wossy" target="_self">Johnathon Ross</a> Show sending traffic to the site surging once more.</p>
<p>But when it&#8217;s used live on air by <a title="http://twitter.com/Schofe" href="http://" target="_self">Philip Scofield </a>on housewives&#8217; favourite This Morning, you know something extraordinary is happening. Tipping point &#8211; live on daytime TV.</p>
