It could be our surroundings here in the East End of London that brings out a fascination for the murderous and the macabre. Or maybe we’re that way inclined anyway. But this Christmas, rather than luxuriating with Champagne cocktails in one of the bars in our neighbourhood, we’re taking to the streets (along with a hardy crew of Cherry friends) on a guided tour entitled ‘Mulled Wine & Murder’ – taking in some of the most notorious East End locations. Luckily, many of them happen to be pubs – how thoughtful!
If you’d like to do the walk yourself, we’ve produced a fabulous map with all the murder spots – along with a load of other less squeamish things to do. Just drop us an email and we’ll send you a copy.

The view from the roof of Cherry towers is a little whiter than usual today. The novelty hasn’t worn off just yet, we are hoping we get around to building a snowman before it does!
Here is a little snippet from a project we are currently working on for the resident video production outfit based here at Cherry towers. There will be lots more to follow in the form of a website and full business stationery so keep one of those beady eyes on this space. For now here is the logo and the business cards.
Yesterday we had a lunchtime gallery ganders at Ever Young by James Barnor currently on at Rivington Place. The blurb goes a little like this…
“Through the medium of portraiture, Barnor’s photographs represent societies in transition: Ghana moving towards its independence and London becoming a cosmopolitan, multicultural metropolis. Introducing a newly preserved body of work from the late 1940s to the early 1970s, the exhibition showcases fashion portraits in glorious colour, social documentary, and street and studio photographs with elaborate backdrops, many commissioned for Drum magazine.”
Watch out for London in the swinging sixties as you have never seen it before and a rather dexterous baby doing press ups! The info graphics are rather good too! The exhibition closes on Saturday 27th November so only the speedy should make their way to Rivington Place!
Cherry have been working with Lonely Planet on the launch of the Million Day Grab Back campaign.
A survey by Lonely Planet, the world’s leading travel information provider, has produced some eye-opening statistics on how people use – or misuse – their time off. The research finds that Brits are using just 25% of their weekends for days out, with 28% not taking any at all. Worryingly, the research also shows these days out to be in decline.
With so much precious free time going to waste, Lonely Planet is on a mission to help the nation reclaim what’s rightfully theirs – time off, well spent… away from the daily grind!
People can join the campaign by signing up for Lonely Planet’s “Seize the Days” email newsletter, packed with inspiring, cheap (and very often free) ways to make the most of their time off.
Everyone signing up receives a 10 Free Days mini-guide to get them grabbing back their free time straight away, and helps push the campaign total towards 1 million days. There are also great prizes and bonuses up for grabs.
You can reclaim your days off and support the Million Day Grab Back by signing up here.

Earlier this year Cherry was asked by the Association of Online Publishers to design the identity and event collateral for their annual flagship summit, this year held at the sparkling new Westminster Bridge Park Plaza.
From kicking off the project with invites, banners and press ads a couple of months ago, it was great to be invited along to see the final work showcased on the big stage. The bold pixel-themed identity worked beautifully when super-sized, and we took real pleasure from watching the delegates thumbing through the shiny event programme we’d been merrily labouring over for several weeks!
With live tweets from delegates flashing up on the big screen in response to the keynotes (impressively, none of the speakers seemed put off in the slightest), a digital golf booth, and some delicious digital-themed cocktails, it was a tech-laden event offering some real insight into the challenges faced by today’s media owners.
